Once upon a time, Whigby was just another pointless word searching for a meaning. Then two Canadian guys named Todd Temporale and Frank Viva (that's us) found this peculiar little word floating aimlessly through the air in Frank's backyard. So began our journey to find out what Whigby means. With a bit of luck and a lot of hard work, this is what we discovered: Whigby is all about pattern and paper; eccentricity and authenticity; cheap cheeriness with a dash of cheekiness; lovely uncoated recycled broadsheets and perfect printing. Whigby adds to the pleasure of giving and receiving. Whigby is about concealment and revealment. Whigby is crisp, tailored, torn and tattered. Whigby is memorable, forgettable, timeless and ephemeral. Whigby!

Who are the people behind Whigby? It's true, we are Canadians, but only because our parents were living in Canada when we were born. We like to mix it up with Americans, Bolivians and Spaniards too. One of our favourite things about design is that it ignores borders. We like it whenever our work explores new territory. In the coming months and years, Todd and Frank will continue to add to the Whigby line of stationery products. We might even venture beyond the world of stationery (is there such a world?). We promise to be just as sensitive (creatively and environmentally) with each new product that we introduce.

Okay, sometimes Todd rides his motorcycle way too fast and Frank eats fried foods. We never said we were perfect. However, we are fanatically loyal to our employees, customers and suppliers. That's the meaning of Whigby. We hope you like our stuff. Thank you.
